The Shady Trades.
Hey everyone! As most of you know, Erin and I are in the middle of our home renovation project, and let me tell you, it's been a wild ride. We're having a blast, learning tons, but man, finding reliable, honest folks in the trades? That has been a struggle.
You know the drill – electricians, plumbers, mold restoration experts – we've been through it all. And let me tell you, we’ve had our fair share of disappointments. From crazy overcharges to broken promises, and don't even get me started on the days they just ghosted on us, leaving our project hanging.
One of the worst moments? Paying a fee for someone to show up and give us a quote, only to never hear from them again. Like, what? Is this how the game is played now?
Now, I'm no stranger to the game – I'm on-site most days, keeping tabs on what's getting done and what's not. And even with my daily records, some of these guys had the nerve to try and charge us for hours they never worked! Can you believe it? For those of you that know me… you can imagine my fury.
The icing on the cake was when the owner tried to tell me I was in the wrong and flat out lying. Buddy, I'm there every day; I know what's up. It's frustrating to think about how many people they might be pulling this on who don't have the chance to question it.
But hey, we're not taking this lying down. Once this project is over, you bet some of these companies are getting reviews that might just shake up their business a bit. Should've thought twice before trying to pull a fast one on us.
Now, let's not dwell on the negative. Shoutout to the good ones – the honest, hardworking folks we've had the pleasure of working with. You guys are incredible, and you've earned our future business and recommendations.
To the shady ones? Well, karma's a bitch. What goes around comes around, and we're not afraid to call it out. It's not just about us; it's about creating a community where we share our experiences, protect each other, and ensure that the trades industry is a place where honesty and hard work wins.
So, if you're reading this, we want to hear your stories too. Let's build a network where we can help each other find the good, honest help in the trades. After all, we're all in this together!
