Tips for Buyers

  • Find an agent that's the right fit for you.

Meet in person over coffee or a beer to talk through your aspirations before committing to working together. My goal is to give my clients the best buying experience possible. Questions? Concerns? Ideas? First time buyers? I’m here to talk through it all.

  • Review your finances.

Establish a price range. Be sure you’re ready to commit to a loan and it’s highly recommended to get a mortgage pre-approval before beginning your house hunt. Also, maintain and strengthen your credit.

  • Make a list.

Make a list of your “non-negotiable’s” vs “nice-to-have’s.” As your real estate agent, my goal is to check off all your non-negotiables and as many nice to have’s as possible.

  • Make the most of open houses.

Spend a weekend touring open houses, even homes you may not be interested in. This is a good way to familiarize yourself with different neighborhoods, market trends and what to expect at different price ranges.

  • Trust your gut.

House hunting can be stressful, especially in today’s fast-paced market. The best offers are confident ones. Trust your gut if you’re feeling torn. And remember, your agent should be your biggest asset - I’m always available to run through scenarios or talk through questions.

  • Invest in a home inspection.

This is an important part of the buying process that lends critical insight to your new potential home so you can make an informed decision about purchasing the property.

Tips for Sellers.

  • Find an agent that's the right fit for you.

Whether buying or selling, this is where it all begins. I highly recommend meeting in person and making sure your agent is the right fit for you.

  • The price is right.

Listing at the right price is incredibly important. As your agent, I’ll work closely with you on a listing strategy that involves understanding your home value combined with the current market trends. Together, we’ll decide a competitive listing price that you’re happy with.

  • Invest in quality content.

First impressions are important and photos are the first step to making your property shine and intriguing interested buyers. Your agent should have reliable real estate photographers at the ready and video/drone images as needed.

  • Talk through a marketing plan.

A quality agent will get creative with finding potential buyers, beyond the standard MLS / Zillow listing. I like to begin with determining the key selling points of your property and then exploring the best ways to maximize reach across different channels. Every property is unique and a marketing plan for your home should be too.

  • Get a home inspection before listing.

I encourage my clients to have a thorough understanding of both the seen and unseen components of their home. A pre-listing home inspection alleviates any surprises and allows sellers to fix any repairs needed, should they choose.

  • Be ready to show.

Congrats, you’ve listed your property for sale! Now it’s important to keep the home tidy and prepared for showings. Consider a professional cleaning (especially pet owners) and professional staging if needed. Your agent should have these contacts on hand.

  • Weigh multiple offers carefully.

As your agent, I’ll present you all offers on the table with insight to the pros/cons of each. Together, we’ll decide the right offer for you.
