Fall Reflections.

There’s something about the Fall that stirs up a sense of reflection in me. Maybe it’s the cold morning air or the quiet moments in the woods when I’m out hunting. The world slows down just enough for me to think about where I am and how far I’ve come. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that life is about constant growth - becoming a better hunter, a better father, a better husband, and a better man.

Hunting: A Metaphor for Life

For me, hunting is more than just a sport - it’s a lifestyle. It requires discipline, focus, and patience, three things that have shaped me in more ways than one. I’ve spent countless hours practicing, preparing, and waiting for the right moment. There’s no guarantee of success, but the pursuit is what makes it worthwhile. In a lot of ways, it’s like life itself. You don’t always hit your target on the first try, but you learn from every shot, every miss, every moment of quiet in the woods.

The dedication it requires mirrors the commitment I strive for in every other part of my life - whether it's my real estate business or being present for my family. Hunting has a way of grounding me, reminding me of what really matters. And when I’m out there, bow or rifle in hand, there’s a sense of peace that I don’t find anywhere else.

Family at the Center of It All

As much as I love the thrill of the hunt, what matters most to me is my family. My wife Erin and our daughter Charlee are my whole world. Watching Charlee grow, showing her the outdoors, and spending quality time together has shifted my perspective on everything. Even something as simple as taking her fishing before a real estate showing feels like the perfect blend of my passions. She’s still young, but I’m excited to share more of this lifestyle with her as she grows older.

Erin is my favorite hunting partner. Also known as “the dainty sniper “- she’s got a steady hand and an eye for the shot that most of the time puts mine to shame. There’s something incredibly special about being out in nature together, away from the noise of life. It’s in those moments that I feel closest to her, working together as a team, each of us contributing in our own way.

Hunting and being in the woods alone has always been my go-to, but sharing that space with her has added another layer of meaning. We aren’t just hunting for game - we’re building memories, creating stories that I know we’ll tell for years to come.

Always Pushing to Be Better

I’m 35 (almost 36) now, and while I’ve accomplished a lot, there’s a part of me that’s always striving for more. I’ve come to realize that growth never really stops. Whether it’s pushing through the mental barriers during a tough run or trying to land a new real estate listing, I’ve learned that there’s always something to improve on.

Not too long ago, I took on the '13.1 Challenge,' a test of both physical endurance and mental toughness. Running, breathing exercises, strength training, and cold plunges became part of my daily routine. I didn't hit all my goals, but I pushed myself further than I thought possible, and that's the point. It reminded me that life isn’t about being perfect - it’s about showing up every day and giving your best, no matter the outcome.

That’s the mindset I carry into my business as well. Whether I’m helping a client find their dream ranch or negotiating a deal, I approach every situation with the same determination and drive that bow hunting has taught me. I want my clients to feel like they’re in capable hands -because they are. It’s not just about closing a sale - it’s about creating a positive experience, one that I can be proud of, and one that they’ll remember.

Moving Forward with Purpose

As fall continues, I’m reminded of the importance of balancing ambition with gratitude. I’m incredibly fortunate to live in a place like Montana, where the outdoors is my playground and my office. Every day, I’m reminded of why I chose this path, and why it’s so important for me to keep moving forward.

Whether it’s in the woods, with my family, or in my real estate career, I know that the journey is far from over. There are still new goals to set, new challenges to face, and more opportunities to grow. And that’s what keeps me going.

So here’s to the next adventure - whatever form it may take. Whether it's landing a big elk, closing a big deal, or just spending a quiet afternoon by the lake with Charlee, I’m ready to embrace it all.
