Driven By Purpose - Not Politics.
As we all know, the recent election has brought out a lot of strong emotions and opinions. For some, the outcome might feel like a win; for others, maybe it feels like a loss. But whatever side you’re on, one thing is clear: it’s all too easy to let politics start to define who we are and how we interact with the people around us.
I’ve been thinking about how we often let election results - who’s in office and what they stand for - impact the way we treat each other. In my line of work, I meet people from all walks of life, with all kinds of perspectives. Politics are always a big part of what shapes our country, but they don’t have to shape who we are at our core. It’s the values we hold, the way we handle disagreements, and the actions we take that define us far more deeply than any election.
When we make the effort to connect with people beyond the political labels, we find so much common ground. For me, that shared space is found outdoors, on a hunt, or on the trails. Being in nature reminds me that the things that really matter - family, community, and personal integrity - are far bigger than politics.
In the end, no matter who’s in office, our everyday lives don’t have to be dictated by what’s on the news. We have the choice to stay focused on what brings us peace, joy, and purpose. We can continue building strong relationships, challenging ourselves, and making memories with our loved ones.
So, as we navigate this new chapter, I hope we all find ways to stay true to who we are, treating each other with respect and remembering that, at the end of the day, we’re all neighbors. Let’s stay focused on our own paths, push ourselves to be better, and live the kind of lives we can feel proud of.
Here’s to living a life that’s driven by purpose, not politics.
