Early Morning: A walk or jog with Charlee sets a positive tone, followed by breakfast with the family.
Charlee's Nap Time: This window is crucial for tackling paperwork, client calls, and other tasks for MontanaMattProperties.
Work Day:
8 AM - 2 PM: These are my primary working hours. This time is packed with creating listing presentations, prospecting, and handling various business operations. Erin and I juggle our schedules to ensure one of us is always with Charlee.
Afternoon:
2 PM: I squeeze in a strength workout, a part of my commitment to the 75 Hard challenge.
4 - 5:30 PM: Coaching young men at baseball practice is both rewarding and demanding.
Evening:
6 PM: Another family walk before dinner.

I've had the privilege of coaching at various levels, each requiring a unique approach. Coaching 13- and 14-year-olds, mentoring my old college team, and working with the Range Riders have all shaped my coaching philosophy in distinct ways. Each team demands a different mentality and a tailored approach to nurture their growth.
For my current 14U team, it's about more than just teaching baseball. It's about creating good habits and molding these boys into young men. At this age, it's crucial to relate to them, understand what makes them tick, and embrace the changes, thoughts, and feelings they are experiencing. Unlike college and pro players, who are more well-rounded and have a clearer sense of their identity, these young athletes need guidance to develop both on and off the field.
The Joy of Watching Growth
Coaching this 14U team has been incredibly rewarding so far. Watching these kids grow, both as players and as individuals, is a joy. We have a fantastic group of boys, and my goal is to help them transition smoothly into high school baseball. But beyond that, I hope to instill in them the values of hard work and teamwork. I want them to see the importance of treating others with respect, to understand how to work diligently on and off the field, and to recognize the significance of being a part of something larger than themselves.
I also aim to lead by example. I hope my love for my wife and daughter shows them how to treat women with respect and kindness. Creating a team-first, safe environment is essential, where we win and lose as a team, support each other in times of need, and celebrate together when the moment is right.

One of my biggest challenges as a coach is finding the balance between intensity and enjoyment. I've always been an intense player, and that intensity has trickled into my coaching. I take the game very seriously because I love to win and hate to lose. However, I have to remind myself that it's a game meant to be enjoyed and played with love. Sometimes, I push too hard, especially when I see talent not being fully realized or utilized. It's a delicate balance—encouraging hard work without overwhelming the kids.
I used to be the first one on the field and the last one off it. But I have to remember that these kids aren't me. Am I A Blogger Now?
I can’t believe it’s already been a year.
March of last year marked the beginning of a personal challenge that I never thought I'd be able to complete - committing to writing one blog per week for an entire year. As I sit here now, reflecting on the journey that I've embarked upon, I'm filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment. I can hardly believe that I've actually done it.
Let me start by saying that I've never been one to share my feelings or experiences with the world. Writing wasn’t something I considered myself great at. However, this commitment has led me down a path of discovery and growth that I never anticipated. It's become more than just a task to check off my list each week; it's become a healthy habit, a form of therapy, and a means of self-expression.
In my quest to write consistently, I've tried to add variety into my blogs. Whether it's offering insightful tips on real estate matters, sharing pieces of my personal life, or writing a love letter to my family, I've tried to keep things interesting for my extremely small audience (shoutout to my love, sister, mom, and dad lol).
One thing I've learned along the way is the power of vulnerability. It turns out that the more personal and heartfelt my blogs are, the more clicks and reads they receive. This revelation doesn't surprise me; after all, I too am drawn to stories of real-life experiences and lessons learned. There's something deeply human about sharing our struggles and triumphs, and it's a privilege to be able to do so through my writing.

One Year Without Booze.
It’s been eye opening to say the least.
March 10th marked a significant milestone in my life – one year without a drop of alcohol. This decision, initially met with skepticism from those around me, has transformed my mornings, my relationships, and most importantly, my overall well-being. In this blog, I want to share the takeaways from the past year.
Reclaiming Mornings and Rediscovering Clarity: One of the most immediate and gratifying changes I experienced was the return of my cherished mornings. No longer waking up foggy or hungover, I now greet each day with clarity and intention. This newfound mental clarity has allowed me to be fully present in the moment and has opened a world of possibilities for me.
Embracing the Things I Love: Without the haze of alcohol clouding my judgment, I've been able to rekindle my passion for activities that bring me joy. Whether it's a rigorous workout, a morning run, working on my business endeavors, spending quality time with my family, or exploring the beautiful state I call home – I can now pursue these activities at my fullest potential.
A Remarkable Improvement in Health: One of the most tangible and rewarding outcomes of this alcohol-free year has been the significant improvement in my health. Physically and mentally, I feel stronger, more energetic, and more resilient. The positive impact on my overall well-being has been a powerful motivator to continue this journey of sobriety.
Harmony in Relationships: Alcohol has a tendency to fuel unnecessary conflicts, and my wife and I were no strangers to those heated, alcohol-induced arguments. Since eliminating alcohol from our lives, those senseless disputes have vanished. Sure, we still have our bickering moments, as any couple does, but the toxic disagreements stemming from drinking have become a thing of the past.
Saying No and Finding Pride: In a society that often associates socializing with alcohol, saying no to a drink can be met with raised eyebrows. However, I've come to realize that my sobriety is not a weakness but a strength. I now take pride in my ability to say no and be fully present in social situations. Being in control of my choices has empowered me to enjoy moments more authentically.
Missing the Rituals: While the past year has brought immense benefits, it would be disingenuous not to acknowledge the moments I miss – the taste of a cold beer with friends, a glass of wine on date night, or sipping whiskey around a campfire. These rituals held a place in my life, and I'm sure I'll partake in them again at some point.
As I reflect on the past year, I am filled with gratitude for the positive changes that sobriety has brought into my life. The clarity, improved health, and harmonious relationships far outweigh the occasional longing for the familiar taste of alcohol. This journey has not only defied societal norms but has also given me a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper appreciation for the moments that matter most. One year without booze – a journey well worth taking.
